Where to Get Tested

We know it can be difficult to know where to turn for COVID. Testing is available in many locations throughout Connecticut, free of charge. Some sites, however, will require a medical visit which may entail a charge.

Below is a list of sites that Starling staff put together that may be helpful. Due to the rapidly evolving situation, it is important to confirm information prior to your visit and this list is not exhaustive. Please note that some sites will not test children under 10.

Some helpful options to find a location near you include:

• You can find a testing site by visiting gov/coronavirus, typing your zip code into the box that says “Find a Testing Site Near You” and clicking “GO.”
• You can visit 211ct.org to locate the nearest testing site.
• You can call 2-1-1.

ECHN Urgent Care in South Windsor

• Symptomatic patients receive full evaluation & testing
  Asymptomatic patients get swabbing with no facility fee

St. Francis Hospital 

• 1225 woodland St, Hartford
• Needs an order; suggest that the patient have a hard copy or picture of the script
• Not accepting fax scripts – paper, scan or picture on cell phone
• Drive up, no appointment needed. Open 10:30am-12pm Monday – Saturday; closed Sunday (or as long as supplies last)
• Will test pediatric patients
• Trinity Health Hotline 888-786-2790. Open 7 days a week 8am to 8pm

Hartford Healthcare

• Offer drive-up testing centers at convenient locations throughout the state.
• Offer online appointment scheduling which reduces wait times at our testing locations.
• Ssame-day, on-site evaluation, and testing at our urgent care centers throughout Connecticut.
• Offer tests for adults and children of all ages, when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
• Offer mobile testing at areas around the state.

Manchester Memorial Hospital

  • Order must be faxed over by your doctor

Johnson Memorial Hospital

    • Drive up, no appointment needed.
    • Open 8:30am-3pm Monday-Friday. Closed Saturday and Sunday (or as long as supplies last)

Community Health Center

• Many locations 7 days a week. Visit here >
• Free walk-up or drive-up COVID-19 (Coronavirus) testing is now available! You do not need to have any symptoms to get tested. No appointment is required
• After you are tested, you will receive your results in 3-5 days.
• Please be prepared to potentially wait due to increased demand in the state – bring a book and/or a snack so your wait is comfortable.
• All ages can be tested

Hartford HealthCare GoHealth Urgent Care COVID-19 Rapid Testing Sites – multiple locations including Glastonbury, Vernon, Newington

• Days and Hours: M-F: 8am-8pm; Sat, Sun: 9am-5pm – check for each location.
• Requires Appointment: YES. Scheduling an appointment is now required due to limited testing capacity at GoHealth Urgent Care locations in Connecticut. To schedule an appointment, please visit here. 
• Order from Healthcare Provider Required Prior to Arrival: NO 
• Walk-Ups Accepted: NO 
• Pediatric Testing: YES. Tests offered to children ages 6 months and older, when accompanied by a parent or guardian. 
• Populations Being Tested: Individuals with or without symptoms (asymptomatic). 
• Additional Information: Evaluations are performed in-center or via Virtual Visit, tests are performed in-center. COVID-19 Rapid tests are available at this location. You can save a spot online and learn more here.

• Additional Information: Advanced reservations are required to be evaluated and receive a COVID-19 test. Individuals can reserve their place in line to receive a COVID-19 test can be made here. 

Rapid Testing at Pope Park

Velocity Urgent Care

• Patients with symptoms need a telemedicine appointment first.

• Quidel Rapid used. – Will do all ages.
