Leveraging Our Talent To Become Even Better Together
Welcome to the first CAO report. The last 12 months have been an extraordinary period including the work in preparation for the merger to the post January go live of functioning as one combined entity.
Over these past five months, we have consolidated the operations of billing, finance, human resources, payroll, benefits, credentialing, and information technology. In addition, with CMG leaving ICP we needed to negotiate all new managed care contracts prior to the merger.
We recognize that the change has been challenging. Our ability to respond in the usual timely manner has not been at the customary levels. This has been a product of the volume of items that the team has been working through. Fortunately, we are making great progress and normal operations and service levels are resuming.
The Starling Corporate office on 2110 Silas Deane in Rocky Hill is soon to be complete with all of Starling’s billing on the 2nd floor and with Human Resources, Finance, Administration, and Allscripts EHR support on the 1st floor. Having the support service teams together in one location will ensure the coordination among all areas which will produce the highest level of support to our physicians.
One of key reasons for the merger was to increase our depth and capabilities as an organization by utilizing the best talent in all support areas. We have clearly done this by combining key employees from both former groups of Grove Hill and CMG. As each branch gets to know the key personnel that came with the merger, you will recognize their unique skills and vision that will position us for success.
Here is your current exceptional and dedicated management team:
Chief Financial Officer – John Trusler, CPA (hired by Grove Hill)
Chief Integration Officer – Tracy King (hired by both organizations)
Director of Revenue Cycle – Tina Robinson, CPC (hired by Grove Hill)
Director of Human Resources – Nancy Green (hired by CMG)
Director of Operations GH – Deb Weber (hired by Starling)
Director of Operations CMG – Lori Vinci (hired by CMG)
Director of EHR Allscripts – Kara Olson (hired by CMG)
Director of Compliance – Cindy Kisselburgh, CPC, CIRC (hired by CMG)
Information Tech Lead – Bryan Graven (CEO of National Physician Service)
This team clearly has the necessary skills set to meet the current and future challenges ahead. These are the challenges that brought GH and CMG together in the first place and are critical to our success in an ever changing and complex new healthcare market. The future payment guidelines for CMS with MACR alone will significantly separate those who can from those who cannot.
I look forward to detailing in these leadership reports on the specific steps we are taking that best positions Starling for success.
