A Summer of Growth & Enhancements

This summer is an exciting time for Starling Physicians. Our exceptional group of providers is growing as we bring in talented individuals to complement our team. We are improving the convenience to our patients by adding new locations and services. And, we are improving our processes so we can operate as a unified organization with a seamless flow of care between our providers.

Growing Our Team

This summer we welcome a number of exceptional physicians to our team:

  • Dr. Raphael Cooper, a seasoned urologist, is now seeing patients in New Britain and Farmington.
  • Dr. Sidra Azim will join our busy Endocrinology Department on the CMG side in mid-July.
  • Dr. Farhan Karim will join the Department of Orthopaedics as a spine expert at the end of the summer.

In the fall, we also will welcome new physicians to our Internal Medicine and Dermatology Departments.

Improving Access to Patient Care

We continue to add or improve our offices, locations, and offerings:

  • Our Glastonbury location is up and running with multiple specialists seeing patients in this beautiful new office. Orthopaedics, Physical Therapy, and Radiology services are new to this area and we look forward to increasing their patient base there.
  • The Hartford Access Center has moved to Newington, where they have doubled in size and provide total dialysis access care for patients – pre-dialysis planning, surgery coordination for dialysis, and longitudinal access follow-up once on dialysis.
  • Our Dermatology Department opened a new Rocky Hill location on July 10th.
Improving Our Services
  • We are steadily moving along with EHR implementation, with many departments completed and others slated for the end of this year.
  • We are pleased to announce the new Hologic Dimensions mammography unit providing 3D Tomosynthesis mammography at our 300 Kensington Ave New Britain location.  Prior to our installation, Starling patients would have to utilize facilities such as UCONN Medical Center for this exam; now this new 3D mammography service is complemented by Breast Ultrasound and Bone Density as a one stop convenience for patients here at Starling Radiology.
  • Our Priority Referral program is making it even easier for our staff to make appointments across departments so patients can leave with follow-up appointments in hand.
  • Our operations team continues to work with practice managers to implement best practices so we can continue to deliver the highest quality care in the most efficient manner.

These are only a few of the many positive changes underway. I look forward to reporting on ongoing improvements in the future.
