Sanela Jahic-Tupkusic, APRN is an Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. She has always had a deep desire to help people and witnessed firsthand the importance of accessible healthcare during the war in her home country. This experience inspired her to pursue a career where she could make a difference in people’s lives.

Sanela brings a wealth of experience to her role, with many years nursing experience in various fields. She’s worked in critical care, cardiovascular units, Cath labs, interventional radiology, PACU/GAPU, EP, long-term rehab, and cardio-pulmonary rehab. Despite her extensive hospital experience, her goal as a Nurse Practitioner is to keep her patients out of the hospital and help them achieve the best health outcomes possible.

Sanela’s approach to patient care is individualized and patient-focused. “I look at my patients as a whole, taking into account the broader context of their lives. This includes their physical, emotional, spiritual, environmental, and cultural aspects. Each patient is different and deserves patient-centered care that promotes the well-being of the whole person,” she says. For her, the most important part of a visit is connecting with her patients and listening to them carefully to build a strong provider-patient relationship.

Outside of her professional life, Sanela enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exercising, traveling, and reading. She is also passionate about ensuring access to patient-centered, efficient, and effective healthcare.
