Gina Calo, APRN, is a member of Summit Health’s OB/GYN team. She was inspired to pursue a career in healthcare by her grandmother, a nurse in Connecticut over 60 years ago. Her experiences as a nurse and the unique ability of healthcare providers to improve patient care and quality of life led her to further her education.

Ms. Calo specializes in Women’s Health, treating women of all ages, throughout reproductive years, pregnancy, and postmenopause. Her approach to patient care is team-based, working with patients to provide solutions that best fit each individual. She believes in holistic care through evidence-based practice and is a strong advocate for patient education. “It is most important to me that patients feel comfortable at their appointments, and that all their needs have been addressed,” she says.

What she enjoys most about her work is getting to know her patients and forming lasting relationships. “I am especially grateful to be able to provide solutions and reassurances for patients. I love providing care to members of my community!” she says.

Outside of work, Ms. Calo enjoys all things outdoors. She loves fly fishing, reading, and exploring New England with her family. She is passionate about introducing non-pharmacological treatment options where medication may not be needed as a first-line approach. She also values family planning conversations to ensure each person is offered the education to choose birth control types based on their unique circumstances and desires.
