Biography
Dr. Feras Al Shami grew up in Damascus, Syria. He attended medical school at the University of Kalamoon, where he obtained his medical degree with a grade of “Excellence.” He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island and Kent Hospital, affiliated with Brown University. He continued his training at Brown University/ Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, and completed his fellowship in Nephrology.
During his fellowship appointment, Dr. Al Shami has gained experience in managing various aspects of kidney diseases, kidney transplantation, and dialysis. He is particularly interested in managing glomerular diseases, kidney injuries associated with heart failure, and peritoneal dialysis.
Dr. Al Shami has also served as a member of the house staff at Brown University, where he participated in teaching medical students and internal medicine residents.
Dr. Al Shami is married and has one daughter. He enjoys spending his spare time with his family. He also likes spending time in the kitchen where he explores new recipes from different international cuisines.
