Biography
Dr. Fawzu Mohammadu attended college at City College of New York, then continued to medical school at George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. Dr. Mohammadu completed his residencies in family medicine at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, CT, and in general surgery at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Medicine which he earned at Middlesex Hospital and a member of the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Mohammadu specializes in preventative care which includes treating diabetes, hypertension, as well as skin conditions. He can perform skin biopsies, in-office procedures, excisions, drainage of abscesses, and treatment of nail disorders. He treats a wide range of patients starting as young as five years old and up and speaks Hausa and Ashanti fluently.
Dr. Mohammadu prides himself on providing the best care and always making the extra effort to ensure the patient’s concerns have been addressed. He is easy-going and compassionate. When he is not tending to patients he enjoys sports including soccer and tennis, as well as travel. His other passion beyond providing clinical care, is working to help the needy in Africa by providing clean water and education for the underserved population.
