Dr. Sousa is an experienced pediatrician who has been with Starling Physicians since 2012.

She did her medical training at a Federal University in Brazil. She went on to complete her Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine residency at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ – a program of Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

She is certified by the American Board of Pediatric Medicine.

During her medical training, Dr. Sousa received the Continuity Clinic Award for Excellence in Ambulatory Care from St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. She also represented the Department of Pediatrics of Saint Joseph’s Healthcare System and was recognized for Excellence in Research. Her research was centered on breast feeding and its protective effects on childhood obesity.

Dr. Sousa enjoys all aspects of pediatric care and loves working with her patients and their caregivers. She has a special interest in breast feeding, early infancy development, and childhood obesity.

She lives in Farmington with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys music, home decoration, spending time with family.
