Biography
Carla Williams, APRN, is a Family Nurse Practitioner who has always been passionate about assisting those in need. She finds joy in making a positive impact on people’s lives by providing education, comfort, and support, managing their health issues, and contributing to their well-being.
Her area of expertise is hemodialysis. Ms. Williams has served as a charge nurse on the dialysis unit at Hartford Clinical for several years and a Clinical Coordinator at Rocky Hill Clinical for six years. She has treated patients with end-stage renal failure, assisting them with their dialysis and tracking metrics on their vital signs, labs, weight, and outcome management.
Ms. Williams believes in providing care that is informative and focuses on individual medical needs of the patients. “During a visit with patients, the most important thing to me is to establish a trusting connection with them by actively listening to their concerns and understanding their points of view. Clear communication is essential while showing empathy and respect for their individual needs and values,” she says. Ms. Williams is particularly passionate about education because it gives her the freedom and knowledge to help others. In addition, she speaks Spanish, Portuguese, and Capeverdean, allowing her to relate more with patients whose primary language is not English.
Outside of work, Ms. Williams enjoys reading and gardening. She also loves walking in the park, enjoying nature, and interacting with people.
