Did you know?
Midwives have cared for women since the beginning of time. In many countries around the world, including France and the U.K., midwifery is even more common than care by obstetricians.
Women typically find that, with a nurse-midwife-assisted labor and birth, they feel a greater sense of control. Midwives generally use fewer technological or medical interventions, but they’re also able to recognize possible complications and bring in the help of an obstetrician when necessary.
Meet Our Certified Nurse Midwives
Each member of our certified nurse midwife (CNM) team is certified by the American College of Nurse-Midwives. We have undergone rigorous training, are licensed in both nursing and midwifery, and have prescriptive authority. We are affiliated with Hartford Hospital and their Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine, and are the only midwife group that delivers there.
