Dr. Kathleen Abbott, Physiatry

This December, we welcome Dr. Kathleen Abbott.  She is one of Connecticut’s leading physiatrists. Physiatry,  also called physical medicine and rehabilitation, is a branch of medicine that aims to enhance and restore  functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments, pain, or disabilities.

Dr. Abbott diagnoses and treats both acute pain and chronic pain and provide non-surgical treatments for patients suffering from back  pain and neck pain, osteoarthritis, and pain from work-related or motor vehicle accidents.  She performs fluoroscopy-guided spinal injections, electrodiagnostic testing, and trigger point and joint injections.   She works collaboratively with physical therapists and chiropractors in order to maximize patient function and encourage exercise and mobility.
