Coverys Offers FREE CMEs and PREMIUM CREDITS through ELM Exchange for Starling Providers
Did you know that as a Coverys policyholder, you have access to specialty specific on-line education courses that will meet your state CME requirements and/or provide you with Malpractice Insurance discounts? These courses are FREE of charge. Grove Hill Branch Physicians are familiar with this program, but CMG Providers will want to go ahead and register on this site.
By completing three of the ELM courses listed below, you may be eligible to receive up to a 2.5% premium credit on your Coverys policy. If you complete an additional two courses (for a total of five courses completed), you may be eligible for an additional 2.5% premium credit (for a total of a 5% premium credit) during your policy year. I will send reports during the year so your practice managers and you can track your progress.
Program Help is available by calling (888) 315-4ELM (4356) or by email at elmsupport@elmexchange.com or by contacting our Coverys Risk Consultant, Joyce Tedford at 617-428-9873, jtedford@coverys.com.
The mandatory core courses can vary slightly (for certain specialties) but for most specialties the four core classes for your discount credit this year are:
- Diagnostic Error: Preventing Cognitive Bias
- Interdisciplinary Communication
- Electronic Media and Healthcare: Privacy, Security, and Efficacy
- Risk Issues in the EMR: Record Cloning
The fifth class is specialty specific:
- Risk and Safety Issues in [Specialty]
Please note:
- Physicians with part-time status of 20 hours or less per week OR 80 hours or less per month receive a tiered credit.
- OB/GYN physicians have received information about different qualifying courses for their discounts.
- Advanced Practitioners do not have individual malpractice, so while they are encouraged to log in to ELM and obtain CME’s and other valuable information, there is no available discount.

Sexual Assault: A Guide for Connecticut Physicians
Domestic Violence: A Guide for the Connecticut Physician
